Anyway the Wind Blows
Today marks week #3 working at Daylight Studios and I have to say that it is amazing to work in a real working studio. Day number one I met Peter Lindbergh and got to PA on his set, cant say to much but there was obviously some very important people there!
The image above is of new face Taylor at New York Models, he was my first shoot for New York models and I am looking forward to photographing more for them coming soon!
I also decided to simplify my website as you can see in the categories now, you know I can never leave this website alone for too long haha
Images from a quick test shoot with Alijah from Soul Artist Management.
The past 3 weeks were very long, working for one of the best Beauty Photographers in NYC isn't a cake walk. I learned so much about time management and things that I didn't think would have to go into a shoot that 100% does. These things even matter as much as the photography itself.
I haven't had time to work on my photography and expand myself as an assistant so the photographer decided to change up my role at the studio.
I am now in more of a "student-mentor" style relationship with her and she gives me a lot of good business advice and advice on who I am as an artist.
I think I am going to apply for my MPS (Master's of Professional Studies) at SVA in NYC. I think spending a year getting my Masters and focusing on who I am as a Fashion Photographer is the best thing for me to refine my work.
The shoot above features Paulina @ Elite Model Management NYC. It was a beauty set based on white and tension. Hair & Makeup by - Chelsea Sule
My first test shoot for Soul Artist Management - It has been a while since I have been able to test but here is one of my favorite images from the shoot.
Matt and I went down to the water and just roamed around Brooklyn Bridge Park for a few hours. I plan on working together on an upcoming editorial.
Hey everyone, this shoot was published on Jute Magazine's Webitorial section. I was going through a phase ( and still am in it a bit) where I was really into mixing sportswear with traditional clothing pieces as I know it is also a big trend at the moment.
The model was from One Management NYC, and my H&MUA was a no show so my stylist did her hair and makeup (and it still looks dope, gotta make it work you know?)
The beginning of this shoot was defiantly a test for me, a soccer player even kicked a ball into my backdrop while the model was changing. Luckily everything really worked out once we got past those parts of the shoot.
Check it out on Jute Magazine's website below:
Even though I am super tired from my move over the past 24 hours, of course my first full day in NYC and I'm already shooting. This one didn't take long though, I met Douglas at a model casting in Raleigh NC and I knew AIM Models would sign him. I am glad to see I was right. Braces are so in this season.
